Dr. Valeria Biurrun-Zaumm, Senior Investment Manager, DEG

Valeria is a Senior Investment Manager in DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH’s Project Finance Energy and Infrastructure team, primarily covering Africa and Latin America. She is responsible for analyzing and structuring new business deals in the energy and transport space and is a client relationship manager for several portfolio projects. Valeria has been part of the DFI community for over 10 years, having worked at DEG, the International Finance Corporation and the Inter-American Development Bank. She has held different positions, covering diverse sectors from Project Finance, to corporates to financial institutions. Valeria holds a PhD from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany, a Master Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Finance from University of Auckland, New Zealand, and a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Universiteit Maastricht, the Netherlands.
